The Secretary of State for Trade, Crafts, Consumption and Social and Solidarity Economy replied to a written question of Mr René Rouquet from the National Assembly on nanoparticles in consumer products [link in French].
In his written question, the Member of Parliament underlined the ‘absence of information on the use of nanoparticles in consumer products’ and asked the Secretary of State, Ms Martine Pinville, if the Government had intentions to require from manufacturers to inform consumers on the presence of nanomaterials in their products.
Ms Pinville replied that the Government had included the issue on the Roadmap 2015 of the Environmental Conference 2014 [in French] and was pushing for action at the European Level. The Secretary of State also mentioned the existing labelling requirements for nanomaterials used in cosmetics, food products and biocides.
